State Road 82 and Daniels Parkway, are two roads in Ft Myers known for their heavy traffic and frequent, dangerous accidents. A Motorcyclist Is Killed On State Road 82 And Daniels Parkway In Lee County
Lee County - Florida Highway Patrol has announced that a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on State Road 82 and Daniels Parkway Early Sunday morning.
The accident began as a 29-year-old man from Lehigh Acres was riding a motorcycle traveling east on State Road 82, approaching the intersection with Daniels Parkway.
Ahead of the motorcyclist also on eastbound SR 82, was a sedan driven by a 61-year-old man from Fort Myers, who was stopped for the red traffic light at the intersection of Daniels Parkway as the motorcyclist approached from behind.
At 2:50 A.M., the Motorcycle driven by the 29-year-old man closed on the sedan from behind, failed to reduce speed, and struck the sedan in the rear.
The force of the crash fatally injured the 29-year-old man who was pronounced deceased by first responders.
Florida Highway Patrol has stated that the crash remains under investigation.
