Fatal Motorcycle Collision at Intersection of State Road 82 and Blackstone Drive in Lee County Kills a 60 year-old-woman
Lee County - Florida Highway Patrol Reported that on August 22, 2024, at approximately 6:10 PM, a fatal traffic accident occurred at the intersection of State Road 82 (Immokalee Road) and Blackstone Drive in Lee County, Florida. The crash involved two vehicles: a box truck and a motorcycle.
A box truck driven by a 32-year-old man from Miami, Florida, was traveling south on Grant Boulevard. As the driver attempted to cross the travel lanes of State Road 82 towards Blackstone Drive, his vehicle collided with a motorcycle. The motorcycle operated by a 60-year-old man from Lehigh Acres, Florida, was traveling east on State Road 82 and approaching the intersection with Blackstone Drive.
The front of the box truck struck the left side of the motorcycle. The motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the box truck and his 30-year-old passenger, from Hialeah, Florida, were not injured in the accident.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
